Lee County Housing Authority
The Lee County Housing Authority is committed to providing quality, affordable housing which is decent, safe, well maintained, and free from drugs and violent crimes to eligible families in this community. By partnering with individuals and organizations, they strive to make the best use of all available resources to provide housing and education for families of modest means to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life.
Today a facelift is planned for the Lee County Housing Authority rental units on the north side of Dixon. The facelift is for the family units and does not include the tower unit. The Housing Authority complex has 76 units in 19 buildings. Eight units have one bedroom while the remaining units have two, three and four bedrooms.
The facelift will include new siding, new roofs and new porches with railings. There will be lots of cement work, landscaping, new drainage, reworking of the roads and redoing the parking lots. While most of the work will be outside, there also will be work on new showers. In 1994-1995 they remodeled the interior of the units.
In addition the Housing Authority pays for the garbage and water at all of their units. Special services include 24 hour call- out on emergencies and a secure keyless entry system at the McReynolds Towers high-rise.
