In 1995 Shaw Newspapers purchased the Daily Gazette of Sterling. Partnering with it's sister newspaper the Telegraph from Dixon, Sauk Valley Newspapers was formed to be the umbrella company for these two award winning daily newspapers. The Telegraph and Daily Gazette are two individual newspapers that are published Monday through Saturday. A regional Sunday product called Sauk Valley Sunday completes the compelling seven day package of news and advertising.

Our 135 dedicated employees working at our state of the art printing and distribution facility assures you that a quality newspaper is printed each day. Over 350 carriers and 65 drivers ensure that your newspaper is delivered in a timely and efficient manner. Each year our staff produces over 8 million copies of the Telegraph, Daily Gazette, and Sauk Valley Sunday. These newspapers are delivered to your doorstep seven days a week complete with over 13 million inserts and special sections.

As locally owned newspapers serving a four county area, both the Telegraph and Daily Gazette believe in giving back to the communities they serve.
