Community State Bank of Rock Falls was organized in 1974 by a group of local businessmen who believed there was a need for a responsive bank that was dedicated to its community. The emphasis was on a "Community" bank that would serve the local people and make a real commitment to serve the community of its locale. The Rock Falls branch opened its doors on April 24, 1975. In 1985 the first drive-up ATM was added.

Community State Bank added onto their original building in 1990 and opened a branch inside County Market in February of 1994. Come 1996, Community State Bank purchased the Morrison office of First of America on December 6, 1996.

They continued their growth with the opening of the Wal-Mart Super Center branch in March of 1998. Soon to follow was the Fulton office on February 14, 2000 and the most recent, Dixon office on December 1, 2003.

Community State Bank provides 50 full time and 6 part times jobs. Community State Bank is locally owned, independent and committed to the communities it serves.

Our staff is involved in the Dixon, Fulton, Morrison, Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce and Sauk Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Clinton Area Development Corporation, Morrison Economic Development Corp., Rock Falls Community Development Corp. and Greater Sterling Development Corp., Lions Clubs, Rotary Clubs and Kiwanis Clubs. Community State Bank also supports the local schools through committee work of their staff, donations to extra-curricular groups and scholarships to graduating seniors.

Community State Bank' s Whiteside County "Relay for Life" team (American Cancer Society) has placed in one of the top two winners spots since 1997. Our customer service staff is a staunch supporter of "Jerry' s Kids" Muscular Dystrophy drive. The competitive nature of this event generates excitement from both our customers and staff. We are also involved with the Alzheimer' s Board, Habitat for Humanity Board and the United Way Board.

We strive to improve our products and services with the most recent being the complete renovation of the Rock Falls parking lot, landscaping and new signage., the opening of our Dixon office, the expansion at our Morrison office to create a closing/conference room and rehab the available office space, the availability of Internet Banking for our customer at commstbk.com.
